The annual Spring Garden Fair is a great way to get your garden growing with helpful tips and instruction! Attendees can expect vendors, demonstrations, classes, educational materials, door prizes, and much more. Classes will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. You can also purchase seeds, plants, flowers, seedlings, yard art, etc., so come one, come all, and let's grow together! Admission is free.

One Saturday of every month, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Museum of the Cherokee Indian offers a family-friendly fun day of free cultural activities including traditional dancing, storytelling, cultural arts demonstrations, genealogy workshops, hands-on craft workshops and more. Traditional food is available on-site, weather permitting. The Cherokee Friends offer workshops on traditional dancing and cultural arts demonstrations including wampum belt making, moccasin making, stickball stick making, wood carving, fire making, and more.

Enjoy a vintage car show at the Cherokee Indian Fair Grounds featuring hundreds of restored and enhanced vintage cars. Chat with their owners to get each car's unique history, enjoy pristine paint jobs, and have your fill of polished chrome. This show will have food, memorabilia, and automobile parts vendors and will be hosted with music by a professional DJ for lots of old-fashioned fun. Admission is $5 per person and free for children 10 and younger. Tickets can be purchased at the event.

The 2018 Mother's Day 5K Run/Walk will be held at Kituwah Mound, also known as the Mother Town. The event takes place on a course that has a bit of everything: road, farm road, and trails-offering a complete review of the historic site. The course is perfect for seasoned runners, first-timers, and walkers. The run begins at 9 a.m. Registration is available online at RunSignup.com or in person from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Prior to April 30, entry fees are $15 per person and $5 for children 12 and younger and ages 59 or above. After April 30, adults are $20.

We cordially invite you to the Cherokee Welcome Center on May 19-20, where we'll be saying sgi, or "thank you" with Cherokee craftspeople, face painting, traditional dancing, clogging, authentic storytelling, a cornhole tournament, and music. On Saturday, the bonfire starts at 7 p.m. and ends at 9 p.m. Delicious Cherokee food will be available, made by and benefiting members of NAIWA. There will be a sampler platter and an Indian dinner plate as your meal options. The purchase of food and crafts may be made with cash only; there are no ATMs onsite. Admission to the event is free.

Spend the long weekend with the boys: rainbow, brook, golden, and brown. Your $11 entry fee lets you compete for $10,000 in tagged fish within the beautiful freestone streams of Cherokee, NC; only the 2.2 miles of catch-and-release waters are excluded. Tagged fish will be specially stocked for this event, and when you catch one, you redeem it for cash prizes ranging from $25 to $5,000 at the Natural Resources Enforcement Office. Prize redemption will run from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. each tournament day.
