Smoky Mountain Picnic Areas

Picnicking in the Smokies is quite popular, just like this spot at Chimneys Picnic Area.

The Great Smoky Mountains National Park and surrounding areas offer wonderful places for picnicking opportunities.  Picnic areas ranging from common tables to huge pavilions can usually be found along any scenic road in the Smokies.

Picnicking is one of the traditional things to do in this area, and there are several sites just calling your name.

Below is a list of picnic sites within the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.  Some have pavilions, while others just have tables.

A few areas allow reservations to be made – up to a year in advance! Reservations can be made by calling (877) 444-6777 or by visiting www.recreation.gov.
