Snake Den Ridge Trail

It is a 4.6-mile climb up mountain to meet the Maddron Bald Trail before going 0.7 miles to the Appalachian Trail.  This is a fast route from the Appalachian Trail down to civilization.  The Snake Den Ridge Trail totals 5.3 miles in length.

Gabes Mountain Trail

This 6.6-mile trail leads to the intersection of Maddron Bald Trail and the Old Settlers Trail.  Before this, the Gabes Mountain Trail goes by Hen Wallow Falls and Campsite #34.  At the intersection, taking the Maddron Bald trail up the mountain takes you to Campsite #29, Snake Den Ridge Trail, and the Appalachian Trail (6.8

Albright Grove Loop Trail

Taking the Maddron Bald Trail up the mountain to Albright Grove, there is a little loop trail that is probably no shorter than a mile. Taking this short loop will give you access to some primitive buildings and some of the last primitive old growth trees left in the park.

Ramsey Cascades Trail

This popular 4-mile trail leads to Ramsey Cascades, an attractive waterfall.  To access this trail, take the unpaved road out of Greenbrier and take a left at the fork.  Follow the road, and the trail will begin at the end of it.

Porters Creek Trail

After going 1 mile on Brushy Mountain Trail, there is a trail that branches off to the left. This is Porters Creek Trail, and it runs parallel with Porters Creek. Winding up mountain, the trail dead-ends after 2.7 miles at Campsite #31.

Brushy Mountain Trail
